Mrs. Myrtle J. Carver

Mrs. Myrtle J. Carver 05/23/1941 – 03/14/2024 Mrs. Myrtle Julie Leatherwood Carver, age 82, of Newport, passed away Thursday morning, March 14, 2024 at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents Grover and Nora Mae Leatherwood; sisters Martha Davis, Jo Ellen Purcell, Dale Leatherwood and Shirley McPhail and a brother Junior Mac Leatherwood. Survivors include her husband James Carver of the home; children Jamie Carver and Lisa Carver (Brent Etherton); grandchildren Tabbatha (Randy) Ball, Ocean Carver and Billie Hall; great-grandchildren Lance Goins, Skyler Ball, Levi Ball, Izidoria Collins and Seryna Howie all of Newport; sister Linda McCabe of Lawton, OK and aunt Edna Coggins of Grassy Fork. Additional survivors include several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 P.M. Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Stokley’s Chapel Memorial Garden for the 2:00 P.M. graveside service with Rev. Randy Ball and Rev. Brian Frazier officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Tuesday at Costner-Maloy & Brown Funeral Home.
